More about the project
In June 2025, a laser scan of the interior of the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Sarajevo was carried out. Built at the end of the 19th century based on a design by Josip Vancaš, the church is one of the most important Catholic landmarks in Bosnia and Herzegovina and part of the Franciscan Seminary. Its appearance evokes St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, which likely served as a model for architect Vancaš.
The restoration aims to preserve the cultural heritage and return the church to full liturgical use. A 3D interior survey and high-resolution orthophoto views were produced to support the restoration process.
